How to take care of your viscose garment

Viscose fabric, also known as rayon, is a type of semi-synthetic fiber made from natural materials such as wood pulp or bamboo. It is known for its smooth and silky texture, as well as its versatility and breathability.

When it comes to caring for viscose clothing, here are some general care instructions to help maintain its quality and prolong its lifespan:

  1. Read the Label: Always check the care label or instructions provided by the manufacturer for specific care requirements unique to your viscose dress, top, pants, kimono, etc. This label will provide important information regarding washing, drying, and ironing recommendations.

  2. Hand Wash or Gentle Machine Wash: It is generally recommended to hand wash viscose garments to minimize the risk of damage. If you prefer machine washing, use a gentle or delicate cycle with cold water. Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase to protect it from snagging or tangling with other items.

  3. Mild Detergent: Use a mild detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can weaken the fibers and cause discoloration.

  4. Avoid Soaking: Minimize the time your viscose garment spends in water to prevent excessive stretching or color bleeding. Gently swirl or agitate the garment for a short period and then rinse thoroughly.

  5. Do Not Wring: After washing, avoid wringing or twisting the kimono as it can lead to wrinkles, deformation, or damage to the fabric. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water or roll the garment in a clean towel to absorb moisture.

  6. Drying: Lay the garment flat on a clean, dry towel or hang it on a padded hanger to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight or high heat, as they can cause fading or shrinkage.

  7. Ironing: If needed, use a low to medium heat setting on your iron and iron the garment inside out. Alternatively, you can hang the garment in a steamy bathroom to remove wrinkles naturally.

  8. Storage: Store your viscose garment in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading. It's recommended to fold it neatly to avoid stretching and creasing. Consider using acid-free tissue paper or a cloth cover to protect it from dust and moths.

Remember to always refer to the care instructions specific to your viscose garment to ensure the best care practices.
